What happens when **money, power and morality collide?**
In the Gospel of Luke, Zacchaeus is a wealthy **chief tax collector** — a profession deeply resented in Roman-occupied Judea. When Jesus encounters him, something unexpected happens.
He doesn't simply condemn him.
He goes to **his house**.
And Zacchaeus responds by promising to give half his possessions to the poor and, if he has cheated anyone, to repay them **four times over**. Jesus responds that salvation has come to his house. The story appears in **Luke 19:1–10**.
In this episode, we explore what this ancient parable might be saying about **wealth, taxation, wrongdoing, restitution and personal transformation**.
Perhaps the lesson isn't simply about whether money or taxation is good or bad.
Perhaps it's about what happens when we recognize that our actions have harmed another person — and choose not merely to apologize, but to **make things right**.
Two thousand years later, Zacchaeus leaves us with a remarkably modern question:
**When does taking become too much — and what do we owe one another when harm has been done?**
